Israel in Egypt:  Experience the amazing tour de force that is one of Handels great dramatic works, full of exciting and musically colorful choruses. Composed at the height of his creative powers, George Frideric Handels Dramatic Oratorio portrays the inspired telling of Exodus, narrating in vivid detail the ten plagues that befall Egypt. The work culminates in sounds of celebration and liberation, ending with the inspiring chorus The Lord shall reign for ever and ever. The Singers will be accompanied by the Bach Consort of Worcester.   Soloists: Carrie Cheron (alto) & Richard Monroe (tenor).

Petite messe solennelle, an unjustly neglected work of Rossini written a few years before his death. This is part of a group of works and is vintage Rossini  containing  wonderful melodies that suggest an opera rather than a mass.  The performance will feature special guest soloists and the newly restored Hook Organ of Mechanics Hall.

PETITE MESSE SOLENNELLE by Gioacchino Rossini in the original version with accompaniment of two Pianos (Judy Yauckoes & Mark Bartlett) and 1897 French Harmonium (Kevin Galie`).  Vocal soloists are soprano Andrea Matthews, mezzo Krista River, tenor Charles Blandy, and baritone Thomas Jones.  The Mass is eclectic in style from Renaissance polyphony to Romantic Art Song, and Rossini’s humorous cliches and parodies are aided by the somewhat quirky sound of the harmonium.

The Peacemakers: This new work by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins was first premiered at Carnegie Hall in March 2012. The Master Singers is proud to perform the New England premiere in concert with other area groups including the Worcester Childrens Chorus and the WPI Orchestra. The concert also features the Hook Organ, celebrating its 150th year at Mechanics Hall.

As it celebrates its 40th anniversary, Salisbury Singers joins forces with the Assumption College Chorale, celebrating its own 30 years, under their conductor, Michelle Graveline, along with critically acclaimed soloists and orchestra in Worcesters finest concert hall. Beethovens beautiful and thrilling Missa Solemnis is a dramatic yet spiritual work, rarely heard, yet eminently listenable, with moments of great dynamism contrasting with passages of spiritually uplifting sweetness. You wont want to miss this performance of a work not heard in Worcester for many years!  Soloists: Jane Shivick (soprano), Deborah Rentz-Moore (mezzo-soprano), Ray Bauwens (tenor) & Dana Whiteside (baritone)
