Shir Joy Chorus

Shir Joy Chorus Logo

Shir Joy Chorus is a Jewish community chorus comprised of members from all over Central Massachusetts. Weekly rehearsals and two annual concerts are held at Congregation B’nai Shalom in Westborough, MA.

The chorus is open to anyone age 16 and older, regardless of ethnicity or religious background, who enjoys singing and is interested in learning and performing Jewish music. New members are always welcome, and no audition is required.

We study various musical styles, from the 16th century to contemporary music. We sing rounds and part songs, some a cappella (unaccompanied), some with piano or other instruments, using a variety of languages such as English, Hebrew, Yiddish, and Ladino, in many different tonalities and scale systems.

Shir Joy Chorus of Massachusetts (SJCM) is an independent nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.
